What Is Ramadan 2023?

Ramadan is the sacred and ninth month of the Islamic calendar but every year, its arrival changes as per the Gregorian calendar. It is an Arabic term; however, it does have some variants in spellings. For example, there is Ramadhan, Ramzan, and Ramazan.

In regards with different regions or countries of the world, there is also some distinction. Like, in Thai, it is Romadon, in Kurdish, it’s Remezan, in Bengali, it’s Romzan while in Albanian, it is Ramazani.

Furthermore, the Ramadan days comprise very essential two portions, divided according to the meal times. One is Suhoor and the other is Iftar. The former is the meal being consumed before the sunrise while the later is the sunset meal.

In between these two meals, a person has to refrain from eating and many other activities. We will explain them shortly in this Ramadan 2023 guide.

Moving on, just like Ramadan, Suhoor also has alternative names. For instance, there is Sehri, Suhur, Sahari, and Sahri. On the other hand, Iftar is also called Iftaar and Futoor. This act of refraining from the food intake is also called fasting.

When Is Ramadan 2023 in the USA?

The answer to ‘when does Ramadan start 2023 in the USA’ is the 23rd of March. In the later section of this article, we are explaining the complete Ramadan schedule for the 2023 and area United States.

Due to the lack of the US being an Islamic state, the celebrations are less visible than in other Muslim countries. It only has 1.1 percent of Muslims among the entire population. It is quite a minimal number to make the Islamic celebrations extremely visible.

Still, the start of Ramadan in the USA puts a remarkable impact on its culture. They passionately prepare the meals at both times and they do it fast. Moreover, the Muslim community living together depicts a great advantage in making the celebrations visible.

We hope better happened in Ramadan 2023.

How Should You Wish Ramadan 2023?

Ramadan 2023 is a blissful event and wishing it is also a kind of worship. In this way, you determine how your relative or long-lost friend is living his or her life. You can eventually help them if they require any financial or emotional assistance.

The simplest way is to message “happy Ramadan” or “wishing you a very happy Ramadan”. Moreover, these phrases are in English; hence, the majority of receivers can clearly understand what you just said. Moreover, you are wishing to the Americans.

You can also incorporate other languages in your wishing. For instance, you can wish “Ramadan Mubarak” or “Ramadan Kareem”. In Arabic, you can use “Kul ‘Aamen Wa Antum Bi Khayr”. There is also “Mubarak Laka Ann Ballaghaka Allahu Ramadan”.

Besides, there are also:

“Ramadan Mubarak to you!!. May Allah give you happiness and success and guide you to the right path”.

“May this Ramzan bring good health, lot of wealth, & happiness in your life”.

When Does Ramadan End 2023?

It will end on the 21st of April and soon after that, the Shawwal commences. The ending of Ramadan will mark the signification of the new moon which Islamic experts try to sight. This happens during the evening and night of 29 and 30 Ramadan.

This is because Ramadan does not always have 30 days. The moon cycle is almost 29.5 days and you have to measure Islamic months according to the moon cycle. This is why it is either of 29 days or 30 days and every year, the days alter.

Sometimes, successively the number of days will appear the same for a couple of years. For instance, the Ramadan of 30 days for consecutively two years, which is possible.

Moreover, there is also the concept of imprisoning the devil. Allah Almighty does this in the beginning of Ramadan and at the end, Allah frees him.

How Should Muslims Spend Every Day in Ramadan 2023 in the USA?

  • The foremost way to start a Ramadan 2023 day is from Suhoor. The preparation encompasses the food preparation of food items that Muslims eat before sunrise. We will discuss later the dishes best compatible in this month for both meals.
  • Soon after Suhoor, the effective regulation is to not sleep. However, the office workers or students have to take a rest in order to spend the day actively while fasting.
  • From this time onwards, Muslims avoid the intake of any food or drink. However, if accidents happen, Allah does not count them as sins and the fast also remains. Moreover, there are also compensations on medications which you need to consult from an Islamic expert.
  • Besides, it is also apt to keep on uttering some Quranic Verses while doing anything during the day. This is the perfect way to collect as many virtues as you can. Moreover, it does not cost you anything; it is just a good use of your tongue.
  • While your commute to the work or elsewhere, you will also meet various strangers. Keep a smiling face on and greet them while passing by. Additionally, you can also look out for the people in need. Help them by holding their carriage for a while or assist them in crossing the road.
  • It is also the apt time to revive your national traditions. For example, if you are spending Ramadan 2023 in America, then wish Ramadan to almost everyone in your family. Forget any personal conflicts and let the blessing absorb in you.
  • Try to wear clean clothes every day. Although this is more of a Eid thing, however, you can also wear washed attires to depict to others about the occasion. It is in general a good impact on the Muslim community

What Should Muslims Avoid in Ramadan 2023?

  • Other than consuming food and beverages, no matter how thirsty you are, Allah does not like the abusive language as well. Although Muslims should follow this on a daily basis, other than Ramadan too but in this sacred month, you should remain extra cautious.
  • Muslims should avoid all kinds of beverage, also the alcoholic ones.
  • The laziness towards the prayers as well as other activities is not good for Ramadan 2023. You will then become unable to perform your daily tasks at your job and can eventually lose it, putting the blame in the fasting. Moreover, laziness also negatively affects human health. Once it instills itself into the human body, its impact stays for a longer period of time, or even a lifetime. Therefore, avoiding it is the pertinent choice.
  • Fasting does make you hungry and to a greater extent sometimes. This urge leads to excessive eating during Iftar time. This is highly malicious for human health. First, this can result in obesity. Second, there are the digestive disorders. Third is the wastage of food. The excessive eating means you have demanded cooking of an abundance of food. Now that you have eaten, surely, there is still food left which will go wasted. It is much better to give to someone who could not even manage one bite for Iftar.
  • Staying active also keeps your mind fresh which means it will keep on reminding you that you are fasting. Oftentimes we forget and accidently eat or drink something. If you are mentally sharp, you will stay safe from this blunder.

Ramazan Pidesi

With the Turkish instincts, this kind of bread is easy to make and is topped with sesame seeds. This flatbread, often presented in a round shape, is served fresh as well as hot. Moreover, it is also very soft, best for digestion as well.

Moreover, it is also fine to combine the elements of tow different cuisines. For example, you can make samosas, whose introduction is below, alongside this dish.

Samosas

They are yummy and crispy and are often used as a side dish. Flour will help in making the cover while the potatoes are best for stuffing. You have to prepare the latter in oil, alongside cumin seeds. However, there are others ingredients as well for the stuffing.

It is all up to you how diverse and delicious you desire to make it.
